AeroDefense 2025 Year in Review: A Pivotal Year for Trusted Airspace Awareness

Summary: 2025 was a milestone year for AeroDefense - defined not just by company achievements, but by the impact those milestones had on the organizations we serve. The launch of AirWarden® Essentials brought reliable, scalable, cost-effective drone detection to end users; third-party exercises and demonstrations validated system effectiveness while providing real-world insights that inform continued refinement based on operational needs; and a decade-long track record underscored AeroDefense’s commitment to the customers they serve and their role as a dependable partner in airspace awareness.

2025 marked a pivotal year for AeroDefense, defined by meaningful progress that strengthened how we serve our customers. From launching AirWarden Essentials to make drone detection more accessible for both single-site locations and organizations that require centralized monitoring of multiple sites, to marking our 10-year anniversary with a decade of real-world experience behind every deployment, each step was taken to deliver greater reliability, insight, and support. Our participation in third-party demonstrations and exercises further sharpened system performance and operational understanding - ensuring customers benefit from proven, field-informed drone detection solutions.

Launch of AirWarden Essentials

In early 2025, AeroDefense introduced AirWarden Essentials, a wide-range drone detection solution designed to broaden access to reliable airspace monitoring with its scalable, cost-effective model and give organizations with multiple sites a centralized way to manage and monitor their airspace from a single screen. Leveraging Remote ID broadcasts, AirWarden Essentials provides real-time tracking of both drones and their pilots, giving organizations actionable visibility into their airspace.

The system was designed for ease of deployment: receivers can be mounted on poles or buildings, connected via LTE or Ethernet, and are operational in minutes, not hours or days. The system’s powerful reporting tools enable analysis of drone flight paths, identification of anomalies, detection of repeat pilot activity across one or more alert zones, and recognition of trends such as peak times for drone activity. By combining real-time detection with historical reporting, organizations gain the intelligence needed to identify pilots during or after an event and support effective response and incident prevention.

Throughout 2025, AeroDefense continued to enhance AirWarden Essentials by adding new features and refinements based on real-world use and customer feedback. These updates - including the introduction of drone authorization - expanded reporting capabilities, improved usability, and strengthened situational awareness, ensuring the platform continued to evolve alongside the operational needs of the organizations relying on it.

The first publicly announced deployment occurred at the University of Mississippi, where campus security praised the system’s comprehensive drone identification, easy installation, and strong customer support.

“We wanted a reliable, easy to operate drone detection system for our campus. With the AirWarden system by AeroDefense we got what we were looking for and more. Since installing the product, we have been able to quickly identify every drone that flies on campus. The install was quick and easy, the sales and service continue to be professional and spot-on and as for price I believe it will be hard to beat.” University of Mississippi

Since launch, AirWarden Essentials has been deployed across stadiums, event venues, critical infrastructure, correctional facilities, law enforcement, and other high-profile sites.

Celebrating 10 Years of Innovation

September 2025 marked AeroDefense’s 10-year anniversary, a decade of innovation in airspace security. From its early-stage detection systems to a suite of flexible, scalable solutions, AeroDefense has consistently evolved to help organizations maintain awareness and control in increasingly active airspace.

This milestone emphasizes the company’s longevity and credibility, highlighting a decade of successful deployments, technological innovation, and market growth. But our story is about more than technology. It’s about people. It’s about the customers who trust us, the partners who collaborate with us, and the team that continues to push boundaries in engineering, wireless communications, AI, and radio frequency. Together, we’ve built solutions that not only meet today’s challenges but anticipate tomorrow’s.

FAA Testing and Validation

In 2025, AeroDefense participated in FAA testing programs, validating the performance of its AirWarden systems. Engagement with the FAA demonstrates the system’s readiness for integration into managed airspace environments and reinforces trust among clients who operate in regulated sectors.

As part of the FAA’s broader efforts to evaluate and safely integrate drone detection technologies into the National Airspace System, the agency conducted a series of off-airport drone-detection tests. These tests - led by the FAA’s Center of Excellence for UAS Research and involving local first responders—assessed how effectively detection systems identify drones and whether they operate without interfering with aircraft navigation and existing airspace infrastructure. The results provided valuable data to help shape standards and ensure technologies like AirWarden can perform reliably in real-world conditions while aligning with evolving FAA expectations for safety and compatibility.

Interpol Event Participation

AeroDefense participated in the INTERPOL Drone Incursion Exercise (IDICE2025) in San Diego, a landmark event bringing together multiple agencies and nationalities to tackle one of today’s fastest-growing security challenges: drone incursions in complex urban environments.

During the exercise, we faced real-world drone threats in crowded urban airspace and tested the full spectrum of law enforcement responses. This exercise showcased the importance of multi-agency, multinational cooperation.

Highlights of the event included:

  • Protecting an aircraft carrier, cruise terminal, helicopter, police boat, and VIP convoys from swarms of drones
  • Deploying hobby and specialist drones to simulate realistic threats in urban airspace
  • Demonstrating coordinated multi-agency responses to drone incursions

INTERPOL will be publishing a report on the exercise. For access or inquiries, please contact sales@aerodefense.tech.

Looking Ahead

The accomplishments of 2025  - product launch, anniversary, and third-party validation - set the stage for continued growth in 2026. AeroDefense is poised to expand AirWarden deployments across more sites and continue to improve and refine its systems to meet evolving drone activity and airspace challenges.

Just as importantly, none of this progress would be possible without our customers. Their real-world challenges shape everything we build. We actively listen to feedback from every deployment and work closely with users to ensure our solutions address practical, on-the-ground needs. That continuous dialogue helps us improve, adapt, and deliver technology that truly solves problems - not just checks a box.

As drone technology continues to proliferate, the need for scalable, accessible, and legally compliant detection will only increase. AeroDefense’s achievements in 2025 demonstrate that it is ready to meet that demand and lead the industry in airspace awareness solutions.
